Elaine Fabre concluded her PhD in chemical engineering on the 19th of December of 2019.

Elaine Fabre thesis was entitled "Treatment of contaminated waters with non-essential and potentially toxic metals using biosorbents and zeolite materials" and the work was supervised by Dr. Eduarda Pereira (University of Aveiro, Requimte), Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva (University of Aveiro, EgiChem).

The jury panel was presided by Professor António Nogueira (University of Aveiro) and the examiners were Dr. Miguel Pardal (University of Coimbra) and Dr. Helena Soares (University of Porto). In addition, Professor João Bordado (University of Lisbon), Dr. Carlos Vale (CIMAR) and Dr. Eduarda Pereira (University Nova of Lisbon) were also in the jury panel.

João Iglésias concluded his MSc in chemical engineering on the 29th of November of 2019.

João Iglésias thesis was entitled "Diffusivities of bioactive compounds in compressed liquids: molecular dynamics simulation" and the work was supervised by Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva (CICECO/EgiChem) and Dr. José Richard Gomes (CICECO).

The jury panel was presided by Dr. Inês Portugal (University of Aveiro) and the examiner was Dr. António Martins (University of Porto).

The Egichem researchers José Pedro Aniceto and Simão Cardoso attended and presented posters in the 2019 AIChE Annual Meeting, which took place in Orlando (USA) from the 10th to 15th of September of 2019.

The Egichem student José Pedro Aniceto attended and presented a poster in the 12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 5th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology, which took place in Florence (Italy) from the 15th to 19th of September of 2019.

Briefly, The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) promotes a series of biannual events, known as ECCE Congresses: "EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING". The Scientific Program encompassed innovative solutions to respond to major societal challenges.
