EgiChem students attend talk on 'carbon emissions trading'

The Egichem members Bruno Zêzere, Ivo Azenha, Sebastião Costa, and Simão Cardoso  attended the talk entitled "O que é o Mercado do Carbono?", which took at University of Aveiro (Portugal), on 15th of May of 2019. 

The seminar was delivered by the expert Eng.ª Helena Pereira, and the event was a jointly organized by the Delegação Distrital de Aveiro da Ordem dos Engenheiros and the Núcleo de Estudantes de Engenharia Química da Universidade de Aveiro.

EgiChem student wins best presentation award in the ICECM 2019

The Egichem student Elaine Fabre delivered a presentation in the ICECM 2019 (International Conference on Environment, Chemistry and Management), which took place at the Hotel Pennsylvania (New York, USA) from the 22nd to 23th of April of 2019. 

Briefly, this conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Environment, Chemistry and Management. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Environment, Chemistry and Management.

 Elaine Fabre  delivered the following oral presentation at the conference:

PhD graduation

Andreia Silva  concluded her PhD in chemical engineering on the 26th of March of 2019.

Andreia Silva  thesis was entitled "Oligomerização de olefinas leves na presença de catalisadores ácidos inorgânicos porosos" and the work was supervised by Dra. Anabela Valente (CICECO, University of Aveiro),  Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva (University of Aveiro, EgiChem).

The jury panel was presided by Professor António Caetano (University of Aveiro) and the examiners were Dr. Maria Filipa Ribeiro (University of Lisbon) and Dr. José Castanheiro (University of Évora). In addition, Professor João Rocha (CICECO, University Aveiro),  Dr. Joaquim Vital (University Nova of Lisbon) and Dra. Anabela Valente (CICECO, University of Aveiro) were also in the jury panel.

The EgiChem members Bruno Zêzere, Ivo Azenha, José Aniceto, Marcelo Melo, Martinique Nunes and Vítor Rodrigues attended the seminar "Supercritically” shaping biomaterials for tissue engineering", which took place at University of Aveiro (Portugal), on 18th of March of 2019. 

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ana Rita Duarte (University Nova of Lisbon) and covered green / sustainable methodologies to process materials or development of biomaterials.

Joana Pinheiro concluded her PhD in chemical engineering on the 7th of January of 2019.

Joana Pinheiro thesis was entitled "Desenvolvimento de um permutador de calor zeolítico para aplicações de aquecimento" and the work was supervised by Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva (University of Aveiro, EgiChem), Dra. Anabela Valente (CICECO, University of Aveiro) and Eng. Sérgio Salústio (BOSCH Termotecnologia).

The jury panel was presided by Professor Fernando Marques (University of Aveiro) and the examiners were Professor Rosa Quinta-Ferreira (University of Coimbra) and Dr. Maria Filipa Ribeiro (University of Lisbon). In addition, Professor João Paulo Crespo (University Nova of Lisbon), Professor José Paulo Mota (University Nova of Lisbon), Professor João Rocha (CICECO, University Aveiro), Eng. Sérgio Salústio (BOSCH Termotecnologia), and Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva (University of Aveiro, EgiChem) were also in the jury panel.
