EgiChem researcher attends '12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering'
September 24, 2019
The Egichem student José Pedro Aniceto attended and presented a poster in the 12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 5th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology, which took place in Florence (Italy) from the 15th to 19th of September of 2019.
Briefly, The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) promotes a series of biannual events, known as ECCE Congresses: "EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING". The Scientific Program encompassed innovative solutions to respond to major societal challenges. Plenary, Keynote, Invited and Contributed lectures unveiled up to date insights in all topical areas of modern Chemical and Biochemical Engineering to address Solutions to Global Challenges.
José Pedro Aniceto presented the following poster at the conference:
I.S. Azenha, J.P.S. Aniceto, A. Mendes, C.M. Silva. Improving the simulated moving bed separation of oleanolic and ursolic acids with a C30 stationary phase, 12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 5th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology, Florence, Italy, 2019.

New supercritical, subcritical, and pressurized extraction unit available
July 15, 2019
A new supercritical, subcritical, and pressurized extraction unit is now available at EgiChem group. The new apparatus was supplied by SFE Process SAS (France) and is labeled as 'Multi-solvent Extraction System LAB SFE 1L'.
The equipment allows several working modes, namely:
- Extraction with supercritical CO2 at pressures up to 1000 bar and temperatures up to 150 ºC, with or without cosolvent, and with controlled flow rates;
- Subcritical water extraction up to 400 bar and 250°C, with controlled flow rates;
- Pressurized organic solvent extraction with controlled pressure, temperature and flow rate.
