EgiChem researchers attend '2019 AIChE Annual Meeting'

The Egichem researchers José Pedro Aniceto and Simão Cardoso attended and presented posters in the 2019 AIChE Annual Meeting, which took place in Orlando (USA) from the 10th to 15th of September of 2019.

The AIChE Annual Meeting is the premier educational forum for chemical engineers interested in innovation and professional growth. Academic and industry experts will cover wide range of topics relevant to cutting-edge research, new technologies, and emerging growth areas in chemical engineering.

Diogo Pacheco concluded his MSc in chemical engineering on the 4th of November of 2019.

Diogo Pacheco thesis was entitled "Bioactive compounds separation with simulated moving bed technology." and the work was supervised by Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva and Dr. José Pedro Aniceto (CICECO/EgiChem).

The jury panel was presided by Dr. Inês Branco (University of Aveiro) and the examiner was Dr. António Martins (University of Porto).

EgiChem researcher attends '12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering'

The Egichem student José Pedro Aniceto attended and presented a poster in the 12th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 5th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology, which took place in Florence (Italy) from the 15th to 19th of September of 2019.

Briefly, The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) promotes a series of biannual events, known as ECCE Congresses: "EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING". The Scientific Program encompassed innovative solutions to respond to major societal challenges. Plenary, Keynote, Invited and Contributed lectures unveiled up to date insights in all topical areas of modern Chemical and Biochemical Engineering to address Solutions to Global Challenges.

The EgiChem group met on the 5th of September to welcome the new academic year.

The event took place at the restaurant of the University of Aveiro at 12:30, and included senior coordinators, postdocs, PhD students, research fellows and MSc Students.

Inês Ferreira concluded her MSc in chemical engineering on the 19th of July of 2019.

Inês Ferreira thesis was entitled "Otimização do Funcionamento da Turbina da Bresfor, S.A." and the work was supervised by Dr. Carlos Manuel Silva and Eng. Rui Loio (Bresfor, S.A.).

The jury panel was presided by Dr. Maria Inês Purcell de Portugal Branco (University of Aveiro) and the examiner was Dr. Francisco Avelino da Silva Freitas (University of Aveiro).
